Follow Charles Darwin on his epic voyage aboard the HMS Beagle on its five year journey of exploration and discovery. Charles Darwin sailed from Plymouth, England in 1831. The ship was equipped with scientific instruments for observation and measurement. On this journey Darwin kept copious notes and collected samples of plants, animals, rocks and fossils. As a naturalist he sought to explain the great diversity of life that he found. His research lead him to a comprehensive theory that would become the foundation of modern biology.

Use this app to trace the voyage of the HMS Beagle and learn about Darwin's important discoveries. The app includes maps, diagrams and text to help students learn about the science of evolution. A quiz helps learners measure how well they understand key concepts.
