SUBSTITUTES & RESCHEDULING

Captains should make every effort to play all matches as scheduled. To facilitate this, substitute players will be allowed per the guidelines outlined below.

Of course there will be instances when a reschedule is unavoidable. If this is the case, the two captains involved should attempt to find a mutually agreeable date as soon as possible. The rescheduled match details should be communicated to the CCBC Board President as soon as available so that the required court time is reserved. All rescheduled matches must be completed by the end of the regular season.

SUBSTITUTE GUIDELINES

You may use a substitute player under the following scenarios:

  • If you have 5 or 6 players available, no substitute is allowed.
  • If you have 4 players available, play the match with your four team members. But if one or
more are not able to play three full games, you may use one substitute.
  • If you have 3 players available, you may use one substitute. If one of your three regular players
is not able to play all three games, you may use two substitutes.
  • If you have 2 players available, you may use up to three substitutes to field a team able to play
    all three games, or reschedule.
  • If you have 1 player available, reschedule the match.

Substitutes must be CCBC members.

Substitutes must request to be placed on the substitute list and provide availability dates here.

Captains will request a sub from the CCBC Board President. Please make any sub requests as soon as the need is known in order to facilitate the selection process.

A name will be drawn randomly from the available players on the sub list for that week.

Captains can decline the randomly chosen sub once per match. The second random draw for a sub cannot be declined by the captain.

The CCBC Board President will contact the randomly chosen sub with the details of the match.

Players are allowed to decline an invitation to be a substitute.

Once the substitute player is finalized, the opposing captain will be notified by the requesting captain.

The substitute player may be used in any number of games during that match.

The substitute player is for that match only. Subsequent requests for substitute players will be conducted by the same random draw process.

If the need for a sub arises too close to match time in order to arrange for a player (last minute emergencies), the captains will be asked to reschedule the match.
