Interactive Whiteboard

The RM Easiboard is the world’s first touch-based porcelain enameled steel whiteboard whose surface is also interactive. This is the first whiteboard with true dual-purpose. It is designed to be used as a regular school whiteboard and as an interactive projection board. We understand that the board may not always be used as an interactive whiteboard, so it is imperative that it functions with dry erase markers. The low glare porcelain enameled steel surface is a perfect projection surface for when the board is required to be interactive.

The surface is also a world class writing surface where dry erase markers can be used and cleaned with a dry cloth or whiteboard eraser. The RM Easiboard is indestructible - ideal for use in the classroom. How often does a teacher use a permanent marker on an interactive whiteboard by mistake?

This could ruin the surface but it is not a problem with the RM Easiboard - simply write over it with a dry-erase marker and wipe clean. Being touch-based means that you do not need to use any special pens with the system. You can use your finger or any other inanimate object to control your computer at the board. The RM Easiboard uses a combination of IR LEDs and Photo Transistors that are aligned in pairs around the screen or board. The firmware is then loaded which specifies the size of the board. These pairs of LEDs and Photo Transistors are then calibrated and are essentially casting a grid over the surface. When the surface is touched, this breaks the line of sight between the LEDs and the Photo Transistors. Where the break occurs this position is converted into an ‘X’ and a ‘Y’ coordinate which the computer then converts into a mouse position. With a resolution of 4096 x 4096, this is a very
accurate technology.
