The activities focus on mathematics and problem solving, reading comprehension, vocabulary building, research skills, writing, problem solving and keyboarding. Each unit starts with an introduction and then provides students with background information about the subject. Next, the lesson focuses on the new vocabulary in the unit and provides keyboarding practice using the vocabulary words. Students work on collaborative research projects which involve writing and math and use CalcuScribe's infra-red beaming capability to transfer text from one unit to another. EZ-Math projects from the book help students better build problem solving skills in word problems with whole numbers, decimals, fractions, percents and also involving measurement and geometry.
