Digital Art Users Group
for Shutterflies and Trilogy Art Group Members

for Trilogy Art Group and Shutterflies Members

Digital Art User Group is for anyone with an interest in using digital tools to create images. No experience required.  We have invited the Monarch Shutterflies group to join us!  The User Group will be defined by the members but may include things like:

• sharing ideas and techniques
• sharing digital artwork
• speakers, instruction

Tuesday, January 23 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm will be the first meeting in the MAC Design Room.  The group can decide if this is a good time slot for monthly meetings.  Come join us for a new venture!  No fee and no registration for TAG members.

The Digital Art Users Group will on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 6-8PM at the Gallery at Monarch Dunes. Meetings will be a discussion of digital art techniques and include follow-along demonstrations. Those of us with an interest in an artistic, digital approach to creating images will gather to share methods that can be used for artistic expression using digital tools. The meeting will in part be a teaching session but will also include inspirational sharing of methods we have discovered on our own, either through online tutorials, use of plug-ins and filters, or simply by experimenting with Procreate, Photoshop tools and other specialized apps and techniques.

The meetings will include sharing samples of digital art work which will provide participants with ideas and also with an opportunity to learn new methods and tools. Potential topics for meetings:

• Enhancing Portraits and ‘Cartoonizing’ a Selfie.
• Line Drawing from a Photo
• Geometric Design
• Abstract Art
• Watercolor Landscapes
• Drawing Cartoon Characters
• Simulating Traditional Media (pencil, chalk, ink, watercolor, pastel, acrylic, etc.)
• Perspective Drawing
• Adding Shadows
• Shading and Color Overlay
• Layers (Using and Manipulating)
• Architectural Renderings
• Still Life
• 3-D Modeling Software
• 3-D Printing
• and more…

The first meeting is scheduled for January 23 at 6PM in the Gallery. The demonstration will be a step-by-step lesson on how to create works of art from a photo using an iPad, Procreate and an Apple Pencil. Come with ideas and suggestions on what to do at upcoming sessions.
