They are targeted at mountain-climbers, water-sports enthusiasts, and other users who want the best possible performance and weather resistance with minimum weight and bulk.

Like the high-performance, outdoor-oriented EXWP I series introduced by Olympus in the spring of 2001, WP I binoculars are nitrogen-filled and waterproof to a depth of one meter. They are lighter and smaller than the EXWP I series, making them ideal for mountaineering, kayaking, and other outdoor activities where gear must be kept to a minimum.
