These binoculars are popular among the hard core bird and nature watcher. They provide bright, clear vision through Olympus' special coating process. First, glare was removing by coating all the lens surfaces. An UV coat was then applied to reduce the number of UV rays that penetrate making the binoculars gentle on the eyes.

Transmissivity has also been raised by keeping the loss of light to a minimum through the exclusive use of glass lenses and BaK4 prisms.
