Hop! Writing is a creative writing software centered on the writing process for students from ages 9 to 16. It is designed to stimulate literary creativity and help compose structured stories.

The software offers seven environments:

Work Schedule: To see what has been produced so far and what still needs to be done.
Narrative Project: To adequately prepare and determine the focus of the writing project.
Characters, Places and Objects: To create descriptive file cards for the story's main elements.
Storyline: To spread out the narrative's events over the story's timeline.
Manuscript: To draft a story without restrictions while following the storyline thanks to Elastickers.
Vocabulary and Strategies: To create synonym and strategy file cards.
Page Setup: To add images and prepare the printing of the book.

In addition to these screens, Hop! Writing also provides:
• contextual Useful Tips;
• databanks of random ideas to stimulate creativity;
• a directory of linking words;
• printable reminders (pdf);
• worksheets to further explore the narrative's elements (pdf);
• assessment and verification grids (pdf).

The School Version provides an extensive range of printable documents (in pdf format):

• Worksheets that allow students to further explore elements of their work (characters and their emotions, story events, find a topic, exploring my topic, describe with the five senses...).
• Verification grids to help students ensure that all tasks listed for each segment of the writing process have been completed.
• Reminders introducing elements that are essential to literary creation.

In a school context, these documents allow users to continue their work outside the computer, but they mostly enable teachers to go deeper into the aspects of the writing process with students.
